I was told that the QL77JC4 plugs are best for my engine. I checked around and found that the JC4's are what it calls for. Are these the same? No one around here has just a JC4 plug.

You transposed a couple there!
The correct plug for that engine is a J4C not a JC4.

Easy for you to look up. Go to marineengine.com.
