If that boat is big enough for that 60 then its big enough to do the platform or what ever you want. That motor is still used today in hydroplane racing. SST45 is the class name. Its a stock class so your block and carbs are what they use and cant really be modified beyond a blue print. You can search SST45 for fun. I think you will find that your block number is the same one desired in this class. Any way, that's all good because down the road if you blow it up a fix is easy and its a well known motor.
Example http://www.wptracing.com/sst-45/

I have not taken it to the water yet, but it must be pretty fast. I had a tracker with a 25hp that was not slow. I do not drive fast but im just saying it probably pick up quick. I went through it real good, it does need new wiring for the trolling motor and livewell.
But most of the work needed i can do myself.
Picking it up wednesday

Nothing like finding a deal. Makes it hard to sleep sometimes. Which state are you? Look forward to the remodel. Tomorrow is new old truck day for me.

This boat looks like it has been neglected but still sturdy.
If you like the engine it is the right kind of boat to buy on a budget. Perfect for repainting and fixing up.
You can make money on boats like this. I have done it for years.
Clean it up, paint it and use the hell out of it.
Just keep an eye on the weather and avoid the rough stuff. Good Luck.

So its officially mine, motor is in great condition. Boats needs paint, aluminum is still in great shape.

The guy who sold it had already Cut out all the deck pieces to build the new decks. All i need to do is wrap them in carpet. Thats awesome. Also the trailer had been rebuilt.
I think its a great deal, before i get to fishing im gonna strip it and get her painted all black.

Thanks for everyone that convinced me to buy it lol

Thanks man, now im trying to figure out how to go about painting it.
Original plans were to paint it black, but if its easier to reapint blue i might just respray it..
After that is buiding a rear deck and figuring out the wiring.
And lastly buy a fish finder and a trolling motor. Its gotta be done by january, the local fishing touranments trail starts on the 15th
