A lot of front decks go to the front bench.

I chose not to go all the way to the front bench. Wanted to leave room for passengers feet,

Do you plan to use a pedestal seat up front? If so, will it be a leaning style butt seat or regular seat with a back? I'd take this into account to make sure that you have adequate room to stand up on the desk while the seat is up there (if you plan on using one). Also, since you have a flatbottom, you will have a little more square footage up there per deck length than a mod-v hull will plus flatbottoms are a little more stable all the way at the bow than most mod-vs. My 1648 flatbottom has about a 4 foot long front deck and is a good size for me.
