Next: Need some paint. I need to repaint all of the exposed aluminum prior to the carpet. It currently has a "speckled" paint on it, which I'd like to maintain. I've considered trunk paint, but the product info says its only "water resistant". Dont seem good. Also considering a spray on truck bed paint. Comes in aerosal, by dupli-color. Not really what I'm looking for though. Anybody use something in particular?

Years and years ago I used Zolatone (speckled paint) on the interior of a 16' fiberglass boat. It did not hold up well. Of course things could have changed since then. I see a lot of boats with this kind of speckled finish so there must be a brand out there that is made for that purpose. Sorry I cannot give you a good lead.

I did a little internet cruising. Take a look at Eastwood Trunk Paint. It is a spray can with splatter pattern. They say they have a clear top coat for waterproofing. Sounds promising but I would call them to see what they think about using in on the inside of a boat.

Thanks LDUBS. Project is on hold. Took the girlfriend to ER Tuesday and she was diagnosed colon, liver and bone cancer.
