Show me your cooler setups in your boats

I put a tray of ice cubes in my cooler bag sitting on the kitchen table and zipped it shut then set the timer to see how long they would last. At the 6 1/2 hour mark they were still not all the way dissolved. Pretty promising results for just testing it out in the house. The next time I head out fi...

6061 T6 .100 for deck questions

A lot of others have used aluminum, I think mostly out of aluminum angle.

Check out onthewater's build of his 1436, should give you a good idea. His build came out great.

Show me your cooler setups in your boats

I was at walmart grabbing a few things and ran accross the cooler bag mentioned earlier in the thread. The label on it says it is leak proof unless turned upside down. I couldn't resist getting it for $5. I am going to fill it with ice and test it out to see how long it lasts and how cold it will s...

Jim, Forum looks great! Thanks for all you do. Super small suggestion: I think the background color for stickied topics should be darker/more defined. They blend into the other topics the way it is now. See below. I'm sure there are other more important things to do for now but imo it would be an i...

1996 Tohatsu

I am of no help to you with my limited knowledge in outboards, but if you post more information others may be able to help! There are some pretty knowledgeable people here. 1) Which motor specifically? 2 stroke/4 stroke? 2) Did this motor ever work while you owned it? If so when/what happened when i...

Bass fishers what are your favorite baits right now?

Chatterbait & lipless crankbait this time of year. Where in CT are you fishing? I'm a huge fan of Lake Winnemaug in Watertown. Have not tried chatter bait there yet but I had no luck with a lipless last Saturday... And this was 40' from a guy using a square bill. I watched him pull out a 4-5lber......

Show me your cooler setups in your boats

What do you guys think about using a cooler bag like this one? https://www.walmart.com/ip/50-Can-Insulated-Cooler-Tote-Sea-Turtle-Green/608036158 I like that it could be folded over and tucked away in the boat when not in use and would save some space. I guess it all depends on your needs. The one ...

Bass fishers what are your favorite baits right now?

I'm loving the ned rig. Tried it for the first time last week and it ended my 3 trip skunk! Its simple, easy to use, and works! Only "downsides" is it is not great in weedy areas, and sometimes you get a lot of dinks since it is a smaller bait (but fish are fish; I'm ok with that!). On my list to ge...

Best way to prep trailer for paint.

Good to know. I'll remember this when the time comes for me to paint my trailer. Thanks, and good job on your trailer!

Our boats are pretty light, so maybe not necessary but look into installing a transmission cooler. I think they're <$100 and not to hard to install. Luckily for me the CD4E transmission is so notoriously unreliable Ford already installed one stock on my 08 Escape... #-o The 06, 07 sienna's have a t...

Best way to prep trailer for paint.

i just used an orbital sander and then painted it with aluminum paint. worked out fine. Looks real nice! My new to me boat/trailer could use a little tlc. The trailer has some surface rust spots. I like how yours came out. When you say "aluminum paint" do you mean paint that is (for lack of better ...
