garmin fish finder question

Shoot thru hull transducers generally do not work through aluminum. You can purchase special aluminum ones but a transom transducer would probably give you a better signal and be cheaper too.

snacks ?????

Beef jerkey, Doritos of some sort and Mt. Dew. If it is going to be an all day trip maybe some water and sammiches. If the kids are with me it is an all trip snack fest with anything and everything we can fit in the bag lol.

1978 Fisher Marine-

Here is a post about my 1981 fisher looks very similar. My capacity plate says rated for 60 horse outboard and 4 people. I will be adding more detailed pics to a build thread to show how it was donewhen I get time.

20hp 4-stroke vs. 25hp 2-stroke

One consideration there would be around these parts is lakes with HP restrictions. There are a good many lakes with a 20HP limit.

Battery Placement

I am a little late to the party here but one thing I noticed when moving the batteries back to the stern was the reduced tongue weight. I pul mine with a minivan and having the batteries in the back took a huge load off of the van's suspension.

Extreme Makeover Bassboat Edition - Just had to share!

I experienced my very own little "extreme makeover" this past month and a half and I figured I would share it with you all and brag on God a little bit! We bought our 1981 Fisher 16' Mod V last season and fished it like it came as our finances have been very tight. This spring we needed to give a bi...

Best place to find boat

Welcome aboard!
The best sites I know of are craigslist.com and ebay. On both you will have to look carefully, and it is a task, but there are deals to be found.
