Re: Any easy way to slow down trolling motor?

If a 30lb trolling motor is too fast.. you need a bigger boat! Lol

Re: Anyone have information on this motor?

That's a neat motor, I've never seen one before. If your looking for nostalgia, it's worth tinkering with, but if your looking for reliability your effort will be better spent on a different motor - namely a 25 or 30hp Johnson or evinrude which can be bought on Craigslist for a decent price. Not to ...

If it is an electric shift model RUN!! The electric shift parts are expensive if you can even find them Sent from my SM-G903W using Tapatalk Nope, not the electric shift on this outboard. In that case I think it's worth tinkering with. I'd take my time over the fall and the winter and investigate t...

Re: 8hp Merc starts great cold, not so much hot.

Fuel injected or carburetor? I'm guessing the mixture is too rich. When cold, the engine likes extra fuel - that's why carbs have a choke to block some of the air flow to increase the fuel:air ratio. But when hot, they don't like the extra fuel - which is why we don't need to choke a warm engine to...

Re: 4hp Johnson Deluxe stalls out.

I would recheck the carb for proper float level and check your needle and seat for proper fuel flow.

Re: EFI and Carb motor storage?

DO NOT run an EFI motor dry!! You will burn out the electric fuel pump.
I would drain the water separator thingy and follow what ever the manual tells you to do.

Re: Level the floor side to side, but what about from front to back?

I use the seat tops as a level gauge. Most times the seats are level on the water. Sent from my CLT-L04 using Tapatalk This is probably the easiest method.. the floor doesn't have to be perfectly level as it's going to change once you move items in the boat around. Re: Nissan, (Mercury / Tohatsu) 2.5 - 2 Stroke - Poor WOT

Fairly certain it's lined out. I replaced the old lines, added a new fuel filter, cleaned the carb and adjusted the float level to make it level with the bottom of the carb when upside down. I used a tach and set the idle to 1100 rpms as the manual suggested. If I have any more issues I'll definite...

Check screw #20 at the pivot, make sure all the pivots in the linkage are tightImage

Re: Nissan, (Mercury / Tohatsu) 2.5 - 2 Stroke - Poor WOT

Hello once again, This time I'm having issues out of a 1998 Nissan 2.5hp 2 stroke. I installed a brand new carb and It starts and idles great. It runs wide open for a few seconds and begins hesitating then shuts down like it does when you run the carb dry after use. It will run perfectly up until h...

Re: johnson 25hp

My 30hp merchatsu 2 stroke can idle at 750rpm all day.. but doesn't smooth out until about 900rpm.. nature of the beast when dealing with a larger twin cyl motor.

In the front of mine I have no battery "box".. just a rubber mat and a rachet strap secured to the floor.

Re: charging coil

Try marineengine.com or EBay.. I doubt something that small had a charging system option.
