Re: New EPA fuel tanks

From my understanding, on the "old" pressure tank systems, it wasn't the tank that was the hazard. It was the lines from the tank to the engine that was the thing to be concerned about. Fuel flowing to the engine, under pressure, will perform a quite nice spray pattern from a split or damaged rubber...

Re: Boat ID

Well, the transom brace doesn't match mine. Mine is a cast aluminum, rather than stamped one. My boat is a 10-foot, (but actual distance is closer to 10'6".) That stamped brace could be a year or model difference. Everything else looks the same as mine, though. Even down to the gunwale trim strips a...

Re: Boat ID

How's the foam in the seat structures? (You did find that, didn't you?) Mine still had foam there, but it was in pretty bad shape. I ended up drilling the rivets out, removing the old and installing new foam, then remounting the seats with stainless machine screws, rubber-backed sealing washers, and...

Re: Boat ID

My '68 Richland looks identical as far as seat mounting, with the vertical brace to the keel. The bow grab handle, as well as the stiffeners at an angle in the bow also look the same. Care to toss in a pic of the transom brace? Additionally, mine had a data plate attached to the transom wood, inside...

Re: Yeti

Sorta like Snap-On tools. Yes, they're good, but does it really cost that much more to build the thing?

Re: Traffic circles (Roundabouts) cause tornadoes

If anyone read the Second LINK, they will find that some high-paid scientists believe that a Butterfly, flapping its wings in one part of the world, can cause a Hurricane in another part of the world, weeks or months later. It is called Chaos Theory. Interesting. ***********************************...

Re: Traffic circles (Roundabouts) cause tornadoes

Ya know, this just reinforces my theory about contrails. You all know how some think the gubmint is spraying mind control drugs out of overhead passing airliners? I'm starting to think they're half right. Only it's not mind control drugs being sprayed......it's a stupidity serum, and it doesn't effe...

Re: Transom wood advice

No. Glue them up, sand as needed, then seal. The glues are formulated for raw wood. Make sure you have all holes drilled/cut before sealing.

Re: Awful wreck in my yard this morning

Personally, I'd suspect alcohol was involved, and not on the part of the woman at the bus stop.

South Iowa crappies?

I hear the crappies are finally starting to spawn here. Heading out Wed. or Thur.
I'll report back, and maybe somebody can give me a heads up before we leave.

Coca-Cola Orange and Vanilla

Never really been a fan of Coke products. That flavor seems a bit off-the-wall to me, so it might be a moot point. Used to drink Diet Pepsi, but they got stupid and changed the sweetener, altering the flavor. Didn't find it very palatable anymore. Switched to Diet 7-Up and didn't look back. I'm prob...

Quiet at home

It's probably a good thing that I haven't won the lottery. I'd waste about half of it suing phone service providers for being party to this type of nuisance. It's their technology that allows numbers to be spoofed, and I'm quite sure they know how to prevent it, but then they'd lose out on the incom...

Trailer shocks

I think, if I were to add shocks, or build with shocks, I'd find a pair of coil-overs from a motorcycle. If necessary, install two on each side, and adjust spring preload for loaded weight.
