Steering Linkage?

I have a 1991 Johnson 15 HP outboard. I changed the steering system from the old cable & pulley to a Telflex rotary system. I'm looking for the linkage arm that connects to the motor. I need to know if there is a specific size or does one size fit all? I found some on eBay, but have no idea which on...

Bus Bars, Wriring and all that

The only thing I would add is a seperate fuse for your locator. Make sure you use the correct amp fuse recommended by manufacture.

using a motorcycle battery for a fish finder.

I run my electronics on a 12 volt 8 amp battery that has it's own charger. They have them at Cabela's. They are on sale right now. 1 battery w/charger $30, 2 Batteries w/charger $50. They are small and don't take up much room. I have never had a problem.

Braided on Spinning reel?

Power Pro is the only braid I use. There are other brands that are smoother and quieter, but at twice the price. With the money I save, I can buy a couple bags of Plastics. I use braid on my spinning reels, but not for everything. I use florocarbon and mono for certain tpes of fishing. Here's a tip!...

Anybody shrink wrap a boat?

I was surprized to see it, but a lot of guys are getting their boats shrink wrapped here in northern wisconsin. They get it done at the local marina. I would think you could get a roll of shrink wrap and a heat gun and do it yourself. Maybe somebody like McMaster-Carr would have the shrink wrap?

Abu Garcia question

There is a place here in Wi, that repairs only Abu-Garcia reels and uses only new parts. I've had 2 reels repaired by him and he is great.

What grinds my gears is what I call " PONTOON BOAT COCKTAIL HOUR ". Picture this, It's a half hour before sunset and your sitting on your favorite structure. Just like clockwork you hear the pontoon boats leaving their docks for the sunset cocktail cruise. Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing agai...

Ideas for Lawn Battery

bear, I read somewhere the chargers with cabela's little batteries will overcharge them. Will a 2 bank charger work for these so overcharging is not a problem? tb I just talked to a friend of mine that has been using these batteries on his boat and on his portable locator for ice fishing. He said h...

Ideas for Lawn Battery

I haven't had any charging problems myself, but I have heard the same reports. I'm going to be putting 2 of them in the console that I'm building for my tin boat. I don't know if a 2 bank charger will work, but I'm sure going to check it out.

Awesome Accessory Battery

My son has been running his electronics for about 5 years on Cabela's battery with no problems. I'm buying 2 to put in the console that I'm building. Will keep the wiring much cleaner.
