12' Aluminum. Step 1 Done

Good morning everybody. Well my little 12' Aluminum has come a long way this past summer. I did not get to do decking or flooring in the boat this year but I did manage to find myself a little outboard and did a nice full paint job. Here is the before picture of my boat, I picked up a Evinrude 7.5 2...

12ft Valco (V-Hull) with 15hp Yamaha

Great mod, what speeds are you getting with that 15hp? I'm adding in some deck wood and stuff like you did to my 12' and want to power it with a 8-15hp motor...still in the searching process.

Lowe 1436L

Great build, sucks you don't have it anymore :( Love your "rail" idea and TM bracket. Going to put those ideas into my 12' V Aluminum in another month or so...can't wait to get it going

My materials, the final step

Also, I have decided that removing the old paint would be best. Is there a name I can go to Canadian Tire with next week and pick up a can of something. This is entirely new to me, I'll search around some but I'm looking for something that I can brush on then take off with steel wool or a sponge. Pl...

My materials, the final step

Well it's not much but it's a start. I picked up all the bracket's i'll need, a small lock latch and some hinges for the bow box. Next up is a sealant to cover rivet's with on floor(covered with wood), a jig saw and some lacker to waterproof the wood. 2 more months and I can start(march) and finish ...

Doing any projects over the off season?

Since I've started buying the materials I'm doing a complete reno on my 12' Aluminum. I am putting front deck into it, a small bow box, a wood floor in the back, all fully carpeted, boat will be painted inside and out, will spread some goup on the inside bottom rivets and anywhere where water can ge...

My materials, the final step

The 1/2" Pressure treated plywood is around $35. I'll grab 2 sheets, going to support the deck with ply wood some how. Still waitint until the start of March(end of ice fishing) then I'll do the boat in a weeks time. Don't get pressure treated, just get regular exterior plywood. The chemicals used ...

I feel for you northerners.

Well, it's warmed up and it looks like we might escape on time and make it back to sunny Florida. I love cold weather, but it's been pretty trying being cooped up here. I've gotten out some, bit there is not a lot to do. I appreciate all the responses, they have helped keep me entertained. I still ...

I could use some advice.

I would go for the 3.5, it wouldn't hurt. My buddy's dad had a 3hp Johnson that he had on his flat back sportapal. We could cross a small lake un under 10 minutes, there not fast but they move water and thats the goal. I also have a 12'(show us a picture if you haven't already :P) and am looking for...
