1990 Suzuki 40 skip at WOT

Thanks for all the responses, you guys are the best. After reading all the excellent information I have to believe it's most likely the rev limiter. It only seems to have the skip when I am by myself and only at WOT. Idle is good and mid-range is good. The skip is quick and short unlike fuel starvat...

1990 Suzuki 40 skip at WOT

I recently purchased a 1990 Suzuki 40/25 jet drive that has seen very little use over the years. It is a 2 stroke with oil injection system. It cranks up quickly and idles perfect but at WOT it has a skip. I can back off the throttle slightly and the skip goes away. Is it the rev-limiter kicking in ...

AlumaCraft 1442 Jon Boat pictures

I have an AlumaCraft 1442 flat bottom jon boat that I am starting to do a conversion on. If you are willing to share pictures I would love to see some previous conversions of boats like mine or similar to it. Thanks

Alumacraft paint

"You can order from alumacraft

Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk"

Thanks. I just sent AlumaCraft an email and requested info on how to order the paint. My local dealer told me they didn't offer touch up paint so I was looking for something that would be close to factory paint.

Alumacraft paint

What is the closest color match anyone has found for the dark green paint that AlumaCraft uses on their jon boats? The closet I can get is Rustoleum Camo Forest Green.

2006 Mercury 40 hp 4 stroke

As much as I like this boat I'm going to keep looking or just keep what I have. If the engine were a Yamaha or Tohatsu I might make an offer. Thanks for everyone's input.

2006 Mercury 40 hp 4 stroke

There is a really clean 2006 Triton 1653 SS with a Mercury 40 hp 4 stroke made in China. I am interested in purchasing this boat but i was very surprised to see that the motor was made in China. Does anyone have any experience with this particular Mercury? I thought Tohatsu made the 40 hp engines fo...

Yamaha C90 prime start not working?

Turbotodd...I think mine is the true prime start. It has the little red lever on the side of the middle carb and I have to flip it CW to the middle position "on" to cold start my engine and back CCW to the "auto" position once it gets going. If I leave it in the middle position the engine will start...

Yamaha C90 prime start not working?

Sorry I didn't explain that very well. The switch i am referring to is on the side of the middle carburetor. It has 3 positions for fuel enrichment; auto, on and off if I'm not mistaken. My motor will not start in the Auto position so I have to take the cowling off and move the switch to the on posi...

Yamaha C90 prime start not working?

I have a 1999 Yamaha C90 that requires me to flip the prime start switch to the on position it on cold starts. After the first start of the day the engine will starts fine on it's own. I took the prime start plunger assembly out and did my best to clean that area but that doesn't seem to help. Does ...

Yamaha F25 1st oil change

I always thought it was best to run the engine before changing the oil. Maybe that is one of my mistakes plus not having a pump. After going back through this second oil change plus filter this time the oil is reading only 1/4 of the way up the dipstick. That is after running it for 5 minutes and le...

Yamaha F25 1st oil change

Any tips on how to not make such a mess when changing the oil filter? I tilted the motor up all the way and turned it to the left to drain the oil. Then I let back down to remove the oil filter and refill with new oil. I suppose that I should have left the motor tilted up to prevent oil from spillin...

Yamaha F25 1st oil change

Twice I drained some oil out of the engine to bring it down to the 3/4 high mark. After running it for 2-3 hours each time the oil level would go back to the high mark so today I purchased another quart of oil and oil filter. This time when I change it I will only add the recommended amount of oil p...

Yamaha F25 1st oil change

According to Yamaha..... The dipstick doesn't have a "full" and "low" mark. It has a "low" and "high" mark. High is not "full". They recommend it to be roughly 1/2 to 3/4 the way between the low and high marks; and the reasoning behind this is that all 4 stroke outboards have a tendency to "make oi...
