fuel tank options

I vote 3 gal Yamaha tank & line. Change the motor end fitting to whatever you need. Why? Yamaha tank is the only one I know of that doesn't swell up when you leave it out in the sun. 3 gal? Depends on how far you're going....but for me, I rarely venture more than 10-12 miles from the ramp, so 3 gal...

fuel tank options

I have a 6 gallon and everyone told me to get a 3 gallon because of the reduced weight and size. I bought that exact fuel tank and i see no issues with it. If you do get it make sure where the line fits on, is tight, it just screws on. Mine was very loose and i had to tighten it. I have a 15 hp four...

Evinrude 15 HP 4S prop

I have a 1996 Evinrude 15 HP 4Stroke on a 14 foot tin. The engine right now has a 9 X 11 Pitch on it right now. I just bought everything last fall and haven't even ran it yet. Prop is a little beat up so id like to change it. Not sure to stay with the 11 P 3 blade or go down to a say 4 blade 9 P. An...

Wellmax LED trailer lights

if there is 2 bolts on the back, thats were the bracket goes for the square lights. If they are the rectangle light the bolt head fits up into slots in the back.

Motor Manufacturers - what is good?

Tohastu makes their own motor plus mercury 30 hp or less and evinrude motors 15hp or less i tihnk.. But i highly doubt you can go wrong with any of your listed engines. Yamaha run forever, Hard to find anything bad about a Suzuki, Honda has been building small engines forever. Mercury and Evinrude g...

tire size for 16' johnboat trailer

So i was doing some research into the car tire vs Trailer Tire and they talked about trailer sway. My nephew has a 14' tin on a trailer with car tires and my brother mentioned it sways but they figure its because the tongue is longer then usual. So after reading this i will change my opinion and say...

tire size for 16' johnboat trailer

I had 12's x 4 bolt on my 14' tin and i upgraded to 13 x 5 bolt. Alot bigger and wider which i believe will work better on gravel roads. I dont buy the car tire excuse on light boats. If they are both radial tires then the side walls are thin on both, unlike a bias. On heavier boats id say go with t...

Short shaft motor on a long shaft boat

I think the only issue is getting enough water into the motor to keep it cool, so as long as that happens keep on boating. I have a short shaft 15 hp that ill be trying out on my big boat, The centre of the prop will likely be even with the bottom of the transom maybe if im lucky. Only going 2-3 mph...

what if you live in a townhouse and need it to fit in the garage with the boat/motor trailer? with room for the the wifes precious mazda? then it has to be less than 21 ft. all in and comfortable enough to spend the whole day on.obviously it's an alumacraft escape 145 sc. no brainer. :LOL2: I can f...

Launching boat sequence and muddy boat ramp

LDUBS: my big boat gets all the nice ramps and cement pads. My 14' tinner is for all the little lakes that dont even have a dock and defiantly no cement pads. Last fall the water was so low you would have had to back the trailer tires 10 feet past the end of the pad.75% of guys up here power load so...
