Sketchy Shallow Run

In the drift boat (14ft), I use a 30lb pyramid anchor from Hyde Drift Boats, sometimes that anchor will lodge in a ledge and it's dangerous to get it loose, if you can. I'm going to one of their cylinder toothed anchors. And usually we keep a second anchor if we need to cut the anchor line. I have ...

3 gal or 6 gal tank for 15hp 4 stroke?

I also ran a 25 HP on a 15' boat with a 3 gallon tank. While I trolled for hours and never ran it empty, it was always in the back of my mind. On larger lakes I had a spare gallon just in case. So, I guess if it were me and I had the room I would opt for the larger tank. PS: I guess one nice thing ...

1958 Crestliner Jet Streak Restoration

That sounds like an awesome project. This section is for inboard and outboard jet boats. Try asking in the "boat house" section.

If someone can't help you, maybe they can give you a good vintage boat link.

Gasket, 8.1-15-1, can I buy at auto parts?

Hey guys, I'm wanting to change my lower unit oil. It calls to replace the two gaskets on the bolts. Can I find this at an auto parts store? It is listed as 8.1-15-1. I'm not sure what that means. Any help? I would go with a trusted marine parts supplier. OEM is best. That way you know it's the rig...

Ordered from here.

It's a little pricey with shipping.

I have been drooling over those rock proof boats.

Got out today

That is one funny looking fish. At least it didn't have three eyes.

Sounds like you're going to upgrade. What boats are you looking at?

Just a side note. I bought a 20 lb drift boat galvanized pyramid anchor and am really pleased with it. If you anchor in swift water a lot, you might give one a try.

Best way to clean water film off motor?

My black motor slowly starts turning gray from the water. What is the best way to clean this? CLR. Use CLR to remove all water spots, rinse well, then use a good marine wax. Then buy some "boat bling hot sauce". It smells like vinegar and wax. My 2013 mercury looks like new each time I wipe it down...

Hmm, typo might have been a freudian slip. Haha.
Give it a nice shape, some make up and some shinny bling.

Misuse it and you get stabbed by something sharp.

Yup, she lure.

see it here.....1 big rapid 1/2 way into video.

I've suggested a mud motor section with no luck. I've been thinking about putting a longtail on my 12ft jon. It would be great for those times when my river gets too much hydrilla.

extending trolling motor cables. Cables running hot

Just joined the forum. Hello! Fairly new to owning a boat and I've already found answers to several questions here. The question now is about hot cables so this looks like a good place to start. Got a hand-me-down Trolling Motor from a friend. Took it out yesterday for a check out and the head AND ...

extending trolling motor cables.

hi folks, I have a quick question regarding extending my trolling motor cables. I'm going to use a pair of jumper cables 4 gauge to extend my trolling motor to put my batteries up front. my question is do I need to take the leads all the way up into the motor? or can I just cut them off close to th...

You mentioned you have the same issue picking fish out on the image when they're in the rocks though right?
Yes. This is my first SI fish finder and I'm still experimenting with settings.
