Minn Kota trolling motor shaft shortening

Nice job. Shame there isn't a way to extend the shaft in an easy manner as it was to shorten it. I like my transom mounted trolling motor on the bow, just wish it was another 12 or 16 inches longer to sit deeper in the water and put the controls closer to me w/o having to reach down.

Good job. I went with the duralux too. I brushed and rolled it on. Not as smooth as spraying but for a 35 year old boat it's great.

Keep the pictures coming with your progress.

Galvanized trailers

Nobody got any info on this. Would like to get going on this project! I guess I can call the paint mfg and see what they give as their reason. Has to do with the adhesion process of the chemicals involved. Did a little google search and found this site. Should contain an explanation and solution. h...

1996 Bass Tracker TX 17 Build

Good looking project. If you have any questions regarding that motor, let me know. I've got the same motor that I've been all over tuning and repairing. I have a fairly good understanding of it now through trial and error.

Good luck!

Who has the fastest tin??

Thanks for the heads up on that, I've always wondered if prop shops would let you try before you buy.

Who has the fastest tin??

The boat is fairly heavy. The rear deck is made of aluminum, same thickness as the boat, carpeted, 3/4" marine plywood front deck and myself in the upper 200 pound range. As of right now WOT RPM is about 5100 so it's pitched correctly with the max RPM being 5250. I'm waiting for the delivery of a Ti...

Who has the fastest tin??

15 foot flat boat, 40 hp with 13 pitch prop, 6 gallons of gas, two batteries, trolling motor, tools and tackle I get up to 28 / 29 mph on gps with it trimmed out. With the trim down getting 26 mph.

Looking to change the pitch to a 15 and see if I can break into the 30's. :D

Who has the Safest tin?

I have a check list I go over before I go fishing and one of the first things I do is put the drain plug in before I leave the house. I've probably jinxed myself now. #-o

towing a boat question

I know its off topic but this weekend at the marsh there was a guy pulling a 19 foot bay boat with a 150 johnnyude with a 80's model Nissan 4 banger. :LOL2: I'm sure our Ranger will do fine with that little tin you have... Wow, that would have been a sight to see. Surely that boat/trailer weighs mo...

towing a boat question

Should be fine but avoid steep ramps. I used to own a 1992 Ford Ranger with the weaker 2.3 4 cylinder (lima engine). About 90 hp. It was able to tow and launch a 15' bass boat. It struggled but was never not able to retrieve the boat from out of the water. The main thing is making sure you have trac...
