1989 Lowe 1242

The only thing I know about the trailer is that it was sold by Sears.

I agree, a sub frame may be my only option, I didn't want to raise the driving seat, but I guess I'll have to.

Thank you.

I have a Moeller 3gal Ultra Portable. Can't get much smaller. It's the cap and fittings that stick up.

1989 Lowe 1242

Thought I'd throw a pic of my bunghole in here too  The boat apparently hit a rock and kind of squatted the drain hole abit. I decided to fix something that really wasn't a problem to begin with. Well, when I tried to straighten it, the weld broke free from the hull in three places. That's JB...

Okay, front deck is done. My goal was to make a more stable mount for the seat and provide storage for life jackets; mission accomplished. http://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy279/surveywaters/1989%20Lowe%201242/DSCN3260_zps30ba07db.jpg http://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy279/surveywaters/1989%20Lo...

Not planning on a trolling motor yet, I've never used one. I probably couldn't live with out it once I tried though :) . I have a 24v Minn Kota someone gave me, but I can't see putting two batteries in this little boat. If I could run it on 12v I would atleast try it. I would love to say I bought a ...

Started the new front deck. It's drying now. Not shown in the skeleton photo, I added a piece of 3/4" between the two center joist for more seat support. Will be bracing the floatuing end with 1" sq. tube. http://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy279/surveywaters/1989%20Lowe%201242/DSCN3249_zpsc09b70c6....

I was given this Lowe 1242 and I almost have the title [-o< . I was also given a basket case 1971 Evinrude 6hp Fisherman. Took about $100 in parts and a lot of time, but it runs ike a dream, I know the decals are for a '69 but the '71 were 3X as much, "and I almost have the title for it [-o< " . The...

1989 LOWE 1242 River-J

I've got a 6hp going on it, I am fine with drilling out rivets and installing new to seal the holes. My intention is to deck over the rear bench all the way to the stern to cover the fuel tank from UV's and provide extra storage. Naturally this will be well vented to avoid dangerous fuel vapor build...

Why do river boats have the two blocks between the stern and rear bench? Is it simply for additional flotation? Can I safely remove these or are they also required transom support? I would like room for more than just the fuel tank behind me.

1959 Memp AP1455 - Tell me what it is!

While cleaning the boat today I found the tag. It is a Memphis Belle. Built by the Guy Barnette & Co. Inc. They primarily made Coach Cars like limo's and ambulances from 1948-1955, went bust then came back in '58 under a different name. This tells me that the year on my title is possibly incorrect. ...

The reviews for Citristrip look really good. I hope I'm right about this being house paint. Thanks for the tip!

1959 Memp AP1455 - Tell me what it is!

I think this weekend I'll slip into the wash bay at work, put the red tip on the industrial pressure washer and see what comes off. Could this be a bad idea for any reason that has yet to occur to me? The paint appears to be old alkyd house paint that was brushed on. It is popping off in many places...

1959 Memp AP1455 - Tell me what it is!

As stated , I have a 1959 Memp (Memphis?) AP1455 Semi V aluminum boat. It has no holes, no cracks and no class; but it's got style. She is presently covered in brushed on house paint I think, which hopefully will make it easier to strip. I want to strip, Gluvit, prime/paint, and do some sort of fals...
